laviolette-v-babineauThe CNBA would like to congratulate Joey Laviolette of Sackville, NS and Dominic Babineau from.Richibucto Village on their classic championship bout! Both fought with their heart and soul for ten grueling rounds. Both demonstrated their courage and character! It was a phenomenal contest in every sense of the word. Hats off to two great champions!

Joey Laviolette captured the CNBA Canadian Super Featherweight Tiitle against Dominic Babineau Saturday night in a fight that will surely be in the running for Canadian fight of the year honors.  Babineau closed the show strongly after being down twice in round seven.

Babineau entered the fight as the CPBC International Champion with an 11-1 record with 9 wins coming by way of knockout.  Nalie entered the contest 11-2 with 7 knockout victories.

Neither fighter gave away any real estate and both came out as winners in the eyes of the boxing community.  You can’t perform like these guys did for 10 solid rounds toe to toe without leaving an impression on everybody that witnessed such a classic championship contest.

laviolette-championSaint-Ignace’s # 1 ranked CNBA female heavyweight boxer Annie Mazerolle recorded her 8th professional win with a dominant 6-round unanimous decision victory over Giovanna Gonzalez who dropped to 3-3.

Richibucto Village’s Jani Banineau, # 2 ranked CNBA Flyweight contender defeated Mexico’s Brenda Balderas by way of unanimous decision in a four round match-up.

Light Heavyweight boxer Greg Weeks of Prince Edward Island stopped Alex Paul of St. Mary’s First Nation in the second round.

The card promoted by Don’t Blink Promotions packed the Imperial Kent North Centre in Richibucto Saturday evening.
