Joey Laviolette captured the CNBA Canadian Super Featherweight Tiitle against Dominic Babineau Saturday night in a fight that will surely be in the running for Canadian fight of the year honors. Babineau closed the show strongly after being down twice in round seven.
Babineau entered the fight as the CPBC International Champion with an 11-1 record with 9 wins coming by way of knockout. Nalie entered the contest 11-2 with 7 knockout victories.
Neither fighter gave away any real estate and both came out as winners in the eyes of the boxing community. You can’t perform like these guys did for 10 solid rounds toe to toe without leaving an impression on everybody that witnessed such a classic championship contest.
